Scottish Video Games Archive (SVGA)

The SVGA is the initiative of staff and students of the University of the West of Scotland. The general idea of the archive is to have a repository of games and hardware; to back up, store and preserve classic, successful or exceptional original games which otherwise might be at risk of being lost or forgotten with time. This will also enable both gaming and non-gaming students to learn from these games by exploring such ideas such as, why they were so successful, what made everyone love a game or even hate it, what made a particular game fail and whether people’s wants, interests and expectations from games has changed over the years and continues to do so. The answers to these questions can be explored with the aid of the SVGA.
