Scottish Institute for Enterprise

This summer SIE is launching its summer internship programme designed to offer students and recent graduates the chance to work for entrepreneurial companies and experience first hand their operational and strategic activities.

This pilot programme offers a number of internships across a range of companies and sectors for anyone with a real interest in setting up their own company, or currently developing their business idea or new venture. These internships offer the chance to work on interesting short term projects that will add real value to the companies involved in the programme. In return, the interns will gain insight into how their placement company is operated including its business model and marketing strategy. It is also their chance to identify and develop some of the key skills needed to set-up and run a business, and to take advantage of the mentoring and coaching being offered by these companies for young entrepreneurs.

All the companies taking part are very enthusiastic about the programme and have come back with some exciting projects that reflect their own growing success and future plans. Full details, together with details on how to apply for one of these internships, are available  at www.sie.ac.uk/summerinternships.

All the internships will be for a two-week block to be scheduled during the months of June to September. The exact timing will be agreed between the intern and the company, and subject to any individual  company requirements. The positions are unpaid.
